APPLEBY
FOUNDATION, Inc. is the 501(C)(3) not-for-profit,
New York City based, tax-exempt organization, founded in 1979 which operates REBECCA
KELLY BALLET,
a performing contemporary chamber ballet company
located in Soho and the Adirondacks, and its outreach programs: ONSTAGE,
the training and performance program for rural youth, KIDS
CO-MOTION, RKB's early childhood urban creative movement program with the goal of
making dance part of family life, and the TAHAWUS LODGE CENTER, the creation of a new center for culture and community in Au Sable Forks, NY.
MISSION Rebecca Kelly Ballet brings a humanistic perspective to the stage through Kelly’s distinctive and topical choreography, featuring expressive dancers versatile in modern and classical ballet technique. Focusing on the creation and performance of original ballets, and the development of programs for youth through moveable outreach and education programs, RKB provokes thought, kindles the imagination, and strengthens communities through exposure to the arts. The Company's income is derived from a combination of earned revenue from
teaching, ticket sales,
performance fees, and from contributions from
foundations, corporations and individuals.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS Appleby Foundation, Inc.
